Department of Business Administration
The Department of Business Administration at Gono Bishwabidyalay started functioning in 2011. The Department at present offer only four years' Bachelor degree, BBA (Hons.)
The mission of the department is to generate and disseminate knowledge amongst the students in various fields of Business Studies eg. Finance and Banking, Accounting, Marketing and Management. The students will be provided with upto-date knowledge in business education, imparted training and motivated to create research aptitude and also develop advisory competence. The students will be exposed to the practical aspects of business studies, to the diversity of the work force and competitiveness of the world market.
The academic programmers of the Department of Business Administration is so far designed that the students will become acquainted with the common body of knowledge in business and administration, will receive specialized training in professional fields and they will earn the skill to intellectual curiosity and become equipped to meet the challenges of a changing economic environment and develop entrepreneurship skills.

1st - 6th Semester
Out of all these courses 35 are core and among the core courses, 27 are 3 credit, 7 are 2 credit, one is 1 credit. Six (6) courses are 3 credit (major), three (3) courses are 3 credit (minor) and an internship covering three (3) credit hours. 1st to 6th semester there are 6 oral examinations of 0.75 credit hour each and for 7th semester oral examination of 1.5 credit hour to be held at the end of the each semester. Students will simultaneously get a major and a minor from any of the following areas of business administration. Concentrations in the major and minor areas of the BBA program are as follows:
Relevant assignments, presentations, quizzes, exams, visual aids, field works, and class exercises will be performed throughout the program to understand the relation between the real world situation and theoretical learning.
Monirul Hasan Masum

Mr. Monirul Hasan Masum is currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Business Administration at Gono Bishwabidyalay. Before that he worked as a Lecturer (3 years) and Assistant Professor (8 years), Department of Marketing in different reputed private universities. He also served as Chairman, Department of marketing, Deputy Coordinator, Intensive Training Program on Applied Research Methodology (ITPARM) and Additional Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC-BUBT) . Beside this, he served as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business, Jahangirnagar University from 9th December 2012 to 19th April 2017.
Mr. Masum did his B.B.A and M.B.A in Marketing from IBA- Jahangirnagar University and currently continuing his PhD. In MBA, he stood first in order of merit and awarded with two gold medals “Dr. Surat Ali Khan Gold Medal” and “Shorfuddin Ahmed Gold Medal” for his outstanding performance which were presented directly by the honorable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
Mr. Masum has published 9 research articles in different national and international peer reviewed Journals such as European Journal of Business and Management (UK), World Journal of Social Sciences (Australia), Journal of Business Research (IBA- JU) etc. His research interest includes Services Marketing, Green Marketing, Museum Marketing, Branding, Neuromarketing, Social Marketing and Electronic Banking, etc.
Md. Rubel Hossain
Mr. Hossain has completed his BBA & MBA program from Rajshahi University under Marketing Department. He did a research work on “Shrimp Export Marketing of Bangladesh: Issues & Challenges”. Now, he is working at Gono Bishshwabiddaylay in the Department of Business Administration as an Assistant Lecture.
Md. Touhidul Islam
Mr. Islam has completed his graduation (BBA) in 2011 and post graduation (MBA) degree in 2012 from Rajshahi University (RU) under the Department of Finance & Banking (F&B). He has done an Internship program on “Loan Disbursement and Recovery: A study in ‘RAKUB’ Rajshahi branch” in his BBA program and intensive research work based on “Mobile Banking in Bangladesh: A Study in Rajshahi University area” in his MBA program. He joined in this university on January 14, 2015 and now he is still working in this Department. Now he is working on a Research project funding by the University Research cell.
Jasmin Aktar has completed her graduation (Economics) and post graduation (Economics) from Jahangirnagar University. Her research area was on “Garment workers’’ and ‘Jute situation in Bangladesh’’ . She also worked in Primary Education Quality at Department of Economics in Jahangirnagar University. .Her research interest is on ‘‘Consumer Rights ‘’. . Before that he served as a Teacher in a private university of Dhaka . She has joined Department of Business Administration at GONO Bishwabidyalay as “Assistant Lecturer” in 2nd March, 2016.
Md. Sabbir Hossain
Mr. Hossain has completed his graduation (BBA) in 2015 and post graduation (MBA) degree in 2016 from Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) under the Department of Finance & Banking. He has done two publications first one is “Profitability and operating efficiency of banking sector in Bangladesh-A comparative study between Islamic and conventional banks” and another one is “Status, performance, problems and prospects of real estate business-A study on Barisal city”. He has joined at Gono Bishwabidyalay on August 23, 2017 and now he is serving in this Bishwabidyalay as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration.
Md. Iqbal Hossain
Mr. Iqbal has completed his graduation (BBA) in 2008 and post graduation (MBA) degree in 2009 from university of Rajshahi (RU) under the Department of Accounting and information Systems (AIS). He has completed an internship program on “Financial Statement Analysis of Non-banking Financial Institutions” (A Case Study of Prime Finance and Investment Limited in Bangladesh). Hossain, Iqbal. 2012, Research Monograph: Rajshahi University. He has joined at Gono Bishwabidyalay on August 24, 2017 and now he is serving in this Bishwabidyalay as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration.
Md. Zahidul Alam

Mr. Md. Zahidul Alam joined Department of Business Administration at GONO Bishwabidyalay as “Assistant Lecturer” in 3rd February, 2018. He has completed his graduation (B.Sc) in 2013 and post graduation (M.Sc) degree in 2014 from Jahangirnagar University under the Department of Statistics. He has Completed a thesis paper on "Parametric and Non-Parametric Analysis of Repeated Measurements Experriments." in his M.Sc Program. He has also conducted a research on " Multiple Comparison Tests on Repeated Measurements Experiments on Rice Production in Bangladesh”. Beside this, he also Worked as a data associates under the Projects of “Value Chain Assessment in Mymensingh District” Conducted by Human Development Research Centre (HDRC).
Department of Business Administration
The department has a special Computer Lab with all modern facilities. To enrich the knowledge of our students regarding modern technologies there is a full time computer lab assistant who always tries his best to help the students.
Besides the central library of the University, there is also a departmental library in our Business Administration Department. Students can borrow any book by using their library card.
To make the students dynamic to compete with the complex business world and to create awareness among the students, Business Administration Department lunched a Career Club in November, 2013.
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DEBATING CLUB (BADC) is running under the supervision of the teachers of the department to enrich the student’s talents.
Seminars/ workshops on important academic/ business issues and lectures/ presentations by eminent academician/ professionals/ experts are organized throughout the academic year for the students. The students of this department are able to gather realistic knowledge from these seminars, workshops and lectures.
Like other renowned public and private universities, Gono Bishwabidyalay also established the IQAC to support the university in achieving its mission & vision through providing good quality education. The department of business administration is also under the supervision of such quality assurance cell.
