Center for Multidisciplinary Research, Gono Bishwabidyalay (CMR,GB)

Academic Research discovers, elucidates and evaluates new knowledge, ideas and technologies essential to sustain human society in the future. As an institution of higher education, without research, a University cannot offer a modern curriculum to meet with the needs of the society. Meaningful research fosters professional excellence of the Faculty, essential for delivering need-based education and training to the students. Research provides the required capabilities in the teachers for overhauling their approach in the subject and perceives new methodologies of curriculum development and delivery.  Research also augments prudency, aptitudes, capacities, learning and competence of the teachers and technical staff of universities. Another important objective of research is the sharing and dissemination of the results, through peer-review publication and seminars/training sessions. Through active participation in research, the university students develop critical thinking expertise, as well as effective analytical, research, and communication skills that are essential for a successful graduate. The junior colleagues and students working alongside professors for research work, learn side-by-side as partners giving them unique chance to become successful researchers themselves. Teaching will improve when the staff engage in research (research-based teaching) and the students will learn better if they come into contact with research (research-based learning).

Therefore, Gono Bishwabidyalay established Center for Multidisciplinary Research, Gono Bishwabidyalay (CMR,GB)to provide technical and academic support and skills for developing and carrying out research. The CMR intends to provide a strong support to the teachers of the University for Individual as well as Research Groups and collaborative research with other institutions. Emphasis is given to encourage research on contemporary scientific, technological, agricultural, health and social issues and problems of the community to provide support to our society through the pursuit, dissemination, and application of knowledge.
