Department of Ethics and Equity

The Ethics and Equity department is not independent department. It is supporting department of Gono Bishwabidyalay. It was established in 2003. Courses on Ethics and equity are compulsory for all the undergraduate and graduate students of this university. They familiarize students with the basic concepts of philosophy and illustrate their influence on ideal individuals. It is intended to train students to critical examination of good and evil, right and wrong, virtue and vice, as it is relevant at a time when despite rapid economic growth, peoples suffers from hunger and misery. The notions of ethics and equity can evoke human respect to control racial ethnic and sexual discrimination, pretentious of governments and repressions of the state.  Gono Bishwabidyalay authority considered that ethics and equity should be mandatory for students of all disciplines.

 

Now the ethics and equity courses emphasizes on subjects like Medical Ethics, Professional Ethics, Business Ethics, Ethics Equity and Justice, Engineering Ethics. Moreover students are encouraged to deal with various types of problems while on field trips or writing assignments on current issues.
