It is a great honour and pleasure for me to have been appointed as Treasurer of Gono Bishwabidyalay (GB) for four years by the Chancellor, the Honorable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, based on the recommendation of the Trustee Board. Gono Bishwabidyalay, a university with a difference, was established on July 14, 1998, with the spirit of the liberation war. Unlike other private universities of Bangladesh, Gono Bishwabidyalay provides less educational expenses for all types of financially capable families. To overhead “Digital Bangladesh”, Gono Bishwabidyalay has emphasized research, innovation, and youth development by allotting a huge budget. The objective of the Gono Bishwabidyalay is to foster the national and global development process through the creation of a centre of excellence in higher education that is responsive to society’s needs, particularly social development and human welfare. And to produce highly skilled manpower, visionary leaders and enlightened citizen by imparting high quality higher education and training so that individuals can achieve their intellectual, social, and personal potentials. It is the largest and comprehensive private university in Bangladesh consists of four different Faculties. Only GB has veterinary and animal science faculty among all private universities in the country. The prime devotion and dedication of this University are to always make a significant contribution to the knowledge sector by producing a competent workforce necessary for the country to build the nation. It is with pride I mention that the University has always produced world-class graduates in different fields of study who are capable of comfortably compete with any other graduates from anywhere in the world. Being the best in teaching, research and dissemination of new knowledge and innovations in Bangladesh, Gono Bishwabidyalay is now ready to clamber up the ladder of world-class universities to reach and acquire its due position in the international arena. The Gono Bishwabidyalay is fully geared to give its very best to all who enter the University and hope they will give their best, back to the country towards its development after their graduation. As Treasurer, my main goal is to effectively manage and rebuild the financial discipline so that the university provides the best educational opportunities for all students and to provide a safe environment for students, teachers, and employees. Moreover, I will support to development and reconstruction of all academics and administrative matters to fulfil our university vision of developing self-reliant and confident graduates. I, also proclaim that I am ready to provide the necessary leadership to achieve the goals and objectives in line with the Vision and Mission of Gono Bishwabidyalay.
